NAFIS Awards 2026

This category celebrates Family Information  Services that excel in connecting with local  stakeholders and families, focusing on:  

• Partnerships and collaboration with local services and other organisations.  

• Understanding the needs of the local community.

• Use of social media and digital tools for community engagement.  

• Other engagement through relevant events,   marketing etc.    

This award is judged by Parent Champions.

This category recognises the important work that goes into providing an accessible, welcoming, and user-friendly FIS directory. Entries might include:   

• How parents, carers and young people have been involved in the design of the directory .

• Ways that the directory is easy to navigate online . 

• Ways that the directory is promoted, including with other services.  

• How is easy it is for parents to find out about the childcare available in their area.  

• How well the directory provides information about free early  education and other help to pay for childcare .

This award is judged by Parent Champions.

This award celebrates the innovative work behind setting up a successful Local Offer which meets the needs of families. Judges will be looking for:   

• How parents, carers and young people co-produced the Local Offer . 

• Ways that the Local Offer is easy to navigate online. 

• Ways that the Local Offer is promoted, including with other services . 

• How the Local Offer is integrated with other teams and services .   

This award is judged by Parent Champions.

This award recognises FIS teams that have developed new and innovative ways to promote and work with Family Hubs, making a positive difference for local families. Entries should demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:

• Understanding and responding to the needs of local families.
• Bringing services, support, and activities together in creative and accessible ways.
• Using new ideas, partnerships, or technology to improve the Family Hub offer.
• Effectively promoting Family Hub services, information, and support.

The award celebrates teams that have shown creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to improving support for families.

The winner is voted for by NAFIS members.

NAFIS Awards give Family Information Services the opportunity to spread the word about their hard work. They provide a national platform to both share and celebrate achievements.

Previous award winners say that winning a NAFIS Award has led to greater recognition of their Family Information Service at local and national level. NAFIS Awards are valued and recognised by the wider community.

Each winner receives an Award certificate for display.
