Parenting in the Digital Age - Job role: Peer Researcher

Coram is working on a new research project called Parenting in the Digital Age, funded by the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The project aims to learn more about how parents of babies and young children use digital devices as part of their everyday life as parents, and how they feel about balancing digital life with caring for young children.

The research focuses on the parent experience and we are currently hiring paid Peer Researchers to work on the project. A Peer Researcher is a parent who will speak with other parents in their community to help understand how parents of young children use digital devices.

As part of the role, Peer Researchers will attend training in June to support them to feel confident in the role. They will also join regular workshops and catch-ups with the research team, and carry out research with 3–4 parents in their local area.

This is fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable experience.

To apply for the role, you will need to be the parent or the primary caregiver for a child aged 6 years or under and be able to commit to 21 days of work between June and October, much of which can be done flexibility around family commitments. You don’t need experience of research to apply for the role – your experience of being a parent and speaking with other parents is the most important part of the role.
