The annual Parent Champions Awards recognise and celebrate the work of Parent Champions volunteers and coordinators. Coram Family and Childcare’s 41 Parent Champion schemes reach almost 50,000 families a year (2023/24). Thanks to the amazing work of more than 350 Parent Champions volunteers, parents and carers are supported by their peers in their own communities.

Leila Dantes-Michael from Lewisham, and Jasmine Wilson-Daze from Norfolk are the joint winners of the Parent Champions Coordinator of the Year Award 2025.

We are hugely passionate about the Parent Champions programme, and we appreciate how much you all do for your communities. It is wonderful to bring all the schemes together for the conference and to celebrate your achievements. Through your work, we all know how important creating a supportive community is to families and we are very proud to support such an amazing group of Coordinators and Volunteers.

“It takes a village”. The annual Parent Champions Awards recognise and celebrate the work of Parent Champions volunteers and coordinators.

Parent Champions are parent volunteers who give a few hours a week to talk to other parents about the local services available to families. They help families in their local area, including isolated or marginalised families, to find out about childcare and services available.

When thinking about designing programmes and services for families, we want to make sure these build on strengths and meet their needs and wants, and that we are connecting with families in a significant way.

his May, we celebrated our annual Parent Champions Awards. The awards are an opportunity to recognise the volunteers' achievements and the valuable contributions of Parent Champions schemes across the UK. Once again we were blown away by the quality of the nominations we received and the impact that Parent Champions are having in their community.

This year, the schemes that make up the Parent Champions National Network have more than doubled the number of families spoken to – with over 50,000 families being supported!
